A graduate of the writing program at SUNY Purchase, Phil Padwe lives in New York City where he works as a freelance illustrator and exhibiting fine artist.
As the author/illustrator of both Mommy Has A Tattoo and Daddy Has A Tattoo (as well as Tattoo Coloring Books #1 and #2) Phil Padwe has been spreading our message of “Teaching Tattoo Tolerance” in and around the NYC/tri-state area for years!
Padwe (sounds like Pad-way) has represented the Mommy Has Tattoos brand at public school readings, book stores, literary conventions, tattoo conventions and most recently, by participating in panel discussions at Sienna University in Albany, New York.
A self taught artist, his self-education consisted of thousands of hours of sketching from life while working as a Night Watchman at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 2007 - 2011. As a fine artist, Phil has received recognition from The New York Times and has appeared on television and on NPR. His portraiture resides in both public and private collections across North America.
